Socio Economic Analysis

Challenge Assessments
Through research and consultation, we can identify the social and economic challenges within a given community, area or town. This allows us to identify the key policy and practice changes required into the future that will provide the foundation for sustainable community structures and support development within the area. This information can be used to promote more effective/targeted service delivery and infrastructural improvement, future funding applications, strategic planning, feasibility studies and lobbying for policy change.

Socio-Economic Analysis & Area Profiling
Nurture Development undertakes detailed socio-economic and demographic area profiles based on indicators such as:

  • Population, Age & Gender
  • Occupation, Household & Social Class Structure
  • Nature of Employment and Unemployment
  • Local Authority and Private Housing Statistics
  • Rent Allowances etc.
  • Small Area Population Statistics

Asset Inventories
We also undertake detailed inventories of the assets of an area to include its social, economic, physical, environmental and human capital. Asset inventories can be used to:

  1. Identify what assets are currently in a community
  2. Help identify gaps
  3. Build awareness of the different kinds of assets and spark thinking about how to mobilise them; build upon them; identify and catalyse new connections and creative relationships; and promote ownership and sustainability from the inside out.

There are five main categories of assets including gifts of individuals, citizens associations, local institutions/organisations and programmes, land and businesses.
